Last week marked the four year anniversary of the Supreme Courts decision in Citizens United v. FEC. The case is one of the biggest affronts to our Democratic process the United States has ever seen. Money now equals speech and as such, is subject to similar protections under the First Amendment. As many feared Citizens United ushered in an era of unprecedented political spending, but few could have predicted the extraordinary increases illustrated so succinctly by the Brennan Center’s infographic. We cannot and will not stand idly by and watch our 
Constitutional right to self-determination be eroded the political contributions of special interests and corporations. Now more than ever, we need to stand together as Americans and defend the principles that make our country great. We the People have the final say, and We the People need to raise our voices in unison against the forces that would seek to subvert our power.
